Gosaikunda Trekking
Gosaikunda Trekking is classical trekking combine’s three major areas north of Kathmandu along the border of Tibet Langtang, Gosainkund and Helambu. Langtang is a narrow valley that lies just south of the Tibetan border. It is sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. This trek offers an opportunity to explore villages, to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. You can trekking to Langtang by returning to Kathmandu via the holy lakes of Gosainkund at 4300 meters, thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit the lakes during the full moon festival in August. The lake is also sacred to Buddhists. Gosaikunda is actually the largest of three main lakes the other two being Saraswatikunda and Bhairabkunda. Hindu legend has it that the lakes were formed.
Gosaikunda Trekking, when the God Siva plunged his trident (Trisul) into the ground in order to obtain water. The Trisuli River has its source in the lakes thus the name.Tri (Three) and Suli (needle) or Trisuli that used to use god Shiva. Even now you can see three water tap on side of Gosaikunda Lake. The view from Gosaikunda valley is amazing for everyone. If you have enough time, you can continue to Helambu village for your Gosaikunda trekking but for Gosaikunda trekkers, they back to Dhunche to catch a bus back to Kathmandu. The best time to Gosaikunda trekking is beginning of March to end of May and beginning of September to end of December. You can choose the details of itinerary as per your desire and holidays.

At very short notice just before the festival they organized & day which suited what I wanted. The guide was good and patient and helpful. The porter was excellent and we were a cheerfull happy theresome.
